TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State has elevated Antonio Pierce to a sole defensive coordinator position after sharing the job with Marvin Lewis final season.
The college additionally stated Wednesday that Lewis will transfer again to an advisory position on coach Herm Edwards’ employees.
Pierce will retain the titles of affiliate head coach and recruiting coordinator.
A former NFL Professional Bowl linebacker, Pierce joined the Solar Devils as linebackers coach in 2017. His recruiting efforts have helped Edwards make big inroads in bringing expertise to the desert.
Pierce performed 9 NFL seasons with Washington and the New York Giants earlier than spending 4 seasons as head coach at Lengthy Seaside Poly Excessive College.
