A 2024 offensive lineman high on Auburn’s radar has elected to go in another direction.
Kahlil House, a three-star offensive lineman from Warner Robins, Georgia, had plenty of great things to say about Auburn during his official visit to campus on June 16. However, he visited Stanford the following week and decided that he will play college football across the country.
House announced his commitment to Stanford on Twitter Friday, choosing the Cardinal over Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville, and Cincinnati.
House tells Jeremy Johnson of On3 that Stanford’s academics were a pivotal reason why he chose the cross-country schools over programs closer to his hometown.
“The education is amazing,” House said. “You can have whatever major you want and they’ll work around football. I don’t have to worry about my major getting in the way of football. They have ways of working around football whatever major you want. It’s beautiful… That played a big role for me.”
Auburn has a total of eight commits for the 2024 recruiting cycle currently, with six holding a four-star rating by 247Sports. The class currently ranks No. 45 according to 247Sports rankings.
