Greg Olsen has introduced his retirement after 14 seasons within the NFL with the Chicago Bears (2007-2010), Carolina Panthers (2011-2019) and Seattle Seahawks (2020). Olsen made the announcement previous to Sunday’s NFC Championship Recreation on the Fox broadcast, and can be a part of Fox’s broadcast crew for the 2021 season.

Olsen completed with 742 catches for 8,683 yards and 60 receiving touchdowns in his profession, incomes three Professional Bowl appearances — all with the Panthers (2014-2016). He completed with three 1,000-yard seasons in his profession, simply one among eight tight ends to perform the feat: Solely Tony Gonzalez, Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Witten have extra 1,000-yard seasons.

Olsen is fifth all-time in receiving yards amongst tight ends with two of the 4 (Gonzalez, Shannon Sharpe) within the Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame and the opposite two (Jason Witten, Antonio Gates) heading there. He is additionally fifth amongst all tight ends in receptions and eighth in receiving touchdowns. 

This previous season, Olsen caught 24 passes for 239 yards and a landing with the Seahawks after spending the earlier 9 seasons in Carolina. He is third on the Panthers’ all-time record in receptions (524), yards (6,463) and fourth in receiving touchdowns (39). 

Olsen signed a deal to be the No. 2 NFL tv analyst for Fox as soon as he retired from the league. He aspired to be a sports activities broadcaster, even calling video games for Fox throughout his crew’s bye week prior to now.
